Pastor Dan Hyun
Lead Pastor and Comedian



Pastor Dan was raised in the greater Philadelphia area, receiving a degree in speech communication from Penn State University and a Masters in Divinity from Biblical Seminary. Dan is passionate for God’s work in the city serving with urban churches in Philadelphia and Baltimore and in 2008 led a team to start The Village Church with the hopes of expressing a multicultural expression of the Kingdom of God. Some of his interests include urban ministry, church planting, sports, pop culture, and conversations on culture, race, & ethnicity. Eric Lapointe
Elder



Eric lives in Original Northwood with his wife Ashley and three children. After Eric received his MA in organizational leadership, he and Ashley moved to Baltimore from Los Angeles in 2008 to be closer to family. Eric has a background in higher education administration and leadership development and currently works as a Regional Manager for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Eric is passionate about helping others identify and achieve their God-given dreams, utilizing their gifts to forward the kingdom of God.
Matt Metzger
Elder



Originally from the Philly area and by way of Chicago, Matt moved to Baltimore with his wife Kedri in 2001. They have two daughters and a son, along with another child on the way. Matt has worked for Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake for the past 12 years, building and renovating homes in various Baltimore neighborhoods and surrounding communities. Matt feels a deep love for this city which has become his family’s home, and he feels greatly blessed to be part of The Village family.
Van-Kim Lin
Children’s Ministry Director



Van-Kim (VK) is originally from Sugar Land, TX. She made her way to upstate New York where she graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Human Development and where she met her husband, Larry. Afterwards, she found herself in Baltimore, eventually graduating from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a degree in Child Health. She now works as a research analyst for Child Trends, helping policymakers understand how to improve the lives of children. Van-Kim loves to clean and organize, try new restaurants, people-watch, and drink iced coffee.
Jason Melani
Worship Arts Director



Jason has been involved with music his entire life. As a multi-instrumentalist, he sings and plays drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and the harpejji, a new instrument created in Baltimore by Marcodi Musical Products which he co-founded. Along with new arrangements to older songs, Jason enjoys including original worship songs into The Village worship gatherings. He lives in Original Northwood with his wife and 4 daughters. Jason and The Village Church’s passion is to see the gospel expressed in Baltimore by engaging culture through the arts.
Larry Lin
Pastoral Ministry Intern



Larry was born and raised in San Jose, California, and he graduated from Cornell University with a civil engineering degree. After feeling a calling to pursue Christian ministry as a career, he worked for two years with Cru, a college ministry, in the Washington DC area, and he has since joined The Village staff team as a church-planting intern in August 2013. On top of working with The Village, Larry is also a husband to Van-Kim and a student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also loves playing basketball, blogging, and songwriting.
Rob Pomier
Urban Ministry Intern


Rob was born and raised in the Hampden area. He found the Lord despite struggling with long-term addiction and a violent upbringing. After a near-death experience due to drug use, he has devoted his life to the Lord and his time to the church so that he can help others who have experienced similar situations. Rob is passionate about his boxing gym run through the church, is a die-hard Ravens fan, and is currently trying to make up for lost time with his children.
